About this opportunity:
Cenovus’s Commercial Operations team is seeking a Natural Gas Scheduling Analyst to join their team. You will support the delivery of reliable supply while at the same time minimizing working capital, improving commercial delivery, and identifying optimization opportunities. A curious team player, you will also provide support to Schedulers and Traders by resolving daily physical positions, and transportation capacity and utilization forecasts by asset, as well as support and implement operationally on trade strategies from concept to execution in a risk-controlled manner.
What you’ll do:
- Understand, track, and advise key stakeholders of Force Majeure, cuts/curtailments/increases, track Pipeline outage report and assess impact.
- Assist with reconciliation of best available volumes with mid and back-office functions.
- Ability to cover some Natural Gas desks ensuring SOPs are accurate and current.
- Work collaboratively in an inclusive environment with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide Common Stream Operator (CSO) desk coverage as required.
- Ensure standard processes across all Natural Gas pipelines are documented.
- Weekend and holiday work including balance trading every 3-6 weeks (Natural Gas Team rotation).
- Nominate volumes for shipments to domestic and international pipelines and terminals that correspond with the TSL trade strategy.
- Some desks would not be in scope to start, however, since this is a developmental role to move into scheduling, all desks in Nat Gas will be in scope.
Who you are:
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Formal education in Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in Natural Gas logistics and/or analytics.
- Strong ability to analyze complex information & details and present findings in a clear concise format.
- Enthusiastic self-starter, detail-oriented.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Actively support change management activities.
The following will be considered an asset:
- Industry experience in Business Development or other commercial functions.
- Understanding of North American commodity transportation networks of Natural Gas and conventional/oil sands upstream production operations.
- Experience with Allegro and Pipeline Portals (TC, Enbridge, etc.).
