POSITION SUMMARY:
Our Dementia Journey Journal (ODJJ) is an interactive resource designed to enable sustainable relationship-building between caregivers and care providers of persons living with dementia. It aims to facilitate the sharing of meaningful information related to care and support, allowing for the renegotiation of roles as care settings evolve. The ODJJ is available in multiple languages and is set for implementation in various communities across Canada.
We seek a Temporary Full Time Community Engagement Lead to support the rollout of the ODJJ. This role involves collaborating with organizations like Alzheimer’s Societies and long-term care homes to facilitate the adoption of the ODJJ, executing marketing strategies, and integrating the resource into community settings. This is a 4-month contract position.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Community Outreach & Engagement:
- Develop and maintain relationships with key community partners to facilitate the introduction and adoption of the ODJJ.
- Collaborate with organizations to develop implementation plans and strategies.
- Provide training and onboarding support to ensure effective use of the ODJJ among all relevant partners.
- Gather feedback from community organizations to ensure effective integration and continuous improvement of the ODJJ.
- Track and report on the progress of the rollout, maintaining accurate records of interactions, challenges, and successes.
- Manage and lead the pan-Canadian Project Advisory Committee, organizing monthly meetings to guide implementation.
- Marketing & Promotion:
- Implement the early stages of the marketing plan for the ODJJ, targeting additional organizations to build awareness.
- Organize community events and presentations to promote the ODJJ.
- Market the ODJJ to new communities, highlighting its value in dementia care.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field; additional training in dementia care or community outreach is an asset.
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in community outreach/engagement or event coordination, preferably in healthcare or social services.
- Experience in program rollout to community-based organizations is desirable.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Proven ability to build relationships with diverse community partners.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s disease and its impact is an asset.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Comfortable with digital tools, including email marketing and social media.
