Recreation Summer Camp Lead
(Full Time, Seasonal)

Schedule:
- June 2nd-June 20th 2025: Part time 0-20 hours/week
- June 23rd-August 22nd 2025: Full time 37.5 hours/week *Preference will be given to applicants who are available for all dates above*
Key Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Camp Supervisor, the Summer Camp Lead will provide daily support to the entire staff team and facilitate when needed.
- Demonstrate energy, enthusiasm and commitment when supporting camp counselors in activities, with participants ranging in ages between 4-15.
- Provide input with training materials and delivery to ensure camp team is effectively supported.
- Complete appropriate administrative tasks in a timely manner.
- Follow Ontario’s guidelines for Summer Camp Operations and adhere to BGC Hamilton-Halton’s Policies & Procedures.
- Support with creating camp programming based on the age of the campers and camp theme of the week.
- Maintain professional relationships with peers, members, volunteers, parents and community members.
- Communicate with caregivers regarding daily successes and challenges for each camper.
- Communicate and collaborate with camp counsellors and Camp Supervisor.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have a commitment to the Clubs mission, Vision and Core Values.
- Be a minimum of 18 years of age.
- Have 2 years of experience in a leadership role while working with children and/or in a camp setting (preferred).
- Have strong supervision, facilitation and program planning skills.
- Have an ability to work independently and demonstrate strong leadership skills.
- Have good decision making, problem solving and communication skills.
- Have adaptability and the ability to work in high pressure situations.
- Provide a clear Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Have valid First Aid/CPR Level C (Red Cross preferred).
Wage: $20.80/hr
