Librarian - Library Development Services

Yellowhead Regional Library seeks an energetic, proactive, customer-focused candidate to provide professional expertise, guidance, and support to YRL’s member public and school libraries with the Library Development Services (LDS) team. Responding to the needs of staff and boards, the LDS Librarian contributes to YRL’s goal of ensuring members have sustainable and effective library service.

Qualifications

• MLIS from an ALA-accredited institution.
• One year of related library work experience.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, including delivery of training and presentations in a variety of formats and venues.
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships with a diverse population, balance multiple processes and priorities, adapt to changing environments, work independently, and manage time to ensure project completion.
• Knowledge of legislation impacting public library operations in Alberta.
• Proficient in a modern, technological library environment.
• Proficiency in evaluation and impact analysis to inform decision making an asset.
• Experience or understanding of adult learners and change processes an asset.
• Experience with statistical reporting, technical support, and needs assessments an asset.
• A valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s licence and the aptitude for travel to rural and outlying communities.
• A commitment to upholding the Canadian Federation of Library Associations statements on Intellectual Freedom and Libraries and Diversity and Inclusion.
