Position Summary

The Student Supervision Support person provides supports to students who remain on the school grounds (indoor and outdoor locations) during nutritional breaks and throughout the day on a daily or supply basis. Please note that you may be working in an environment where assistance may be needed with students that may have significant health/medical or behavioral needs. The principal shall determine the time period during which the Student Supervision Support staff will be employed. The successful candidate must be able to understand and respond to the needs of diverse school communities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and security of students.
  • Communicate with a diverse range of staff, students and guardians.
  • Supervise the disposal of lunch refuse in suitable containers and the general cleaning of the lunchroom areas.
  • Deal with discipline problems in a manner prescribed by the principal and report significant disciplinary actions to the principal or designate.
  • Carry out such supervision duties as the principal may assign.

Required Qualifications

Previous related work experience and French language is an asset. The recruitment process requires a criminal background check for work with vulnerable persons.
