Your Opportunity: The Business Analyst (BA) works with a high degree of independence and in concert with the Program Manager, multidisciplinary team and other key stakeholders to develop, plan, and execute projects and various initiatives to support clinical informatics and the use of clinical information systems in Public Health Calgary Zone. The BA takes a lead role in working with project teams, clinical managers, and staff to identify stakeholder needs, gather and analyze requirements, and design and document business processes, and operational workflows for implementation. They are responsible for generating reports, conducting analysis, and providing recommendations based on the analysis of the data to support program and operational needs in alignment with strategic goals. Their focus is on driving organizational change and implementing quality improvement processes that enhance the effective use and ongoing optimization of clinical information systems resulting in the attainment of sustained quality outcomes, higher adoption rates, and increased end-user satisfaction. This position is responsible for leading and participating in projects of limited size, risk and complexity; assisting Department Leaders with strategic planning and implementing quality improvement/quality assurance initiatives; promoting the understanding, application, integration and adoption of information technology within a Public Health setting; advising stakeholders on business processes, procedures, and content related to Public Health Clinical Support Systems; providing expertise in managing data integrity/client information in an electronic environment; analyzing data sets to deliver actionable insights that drive informed, data-driven decision-making; resolving complex problems independently, with minimal guidance by applying best practices and high-level guidelines.
Description: As a Business Analyst, you will work as a liaison among stakeholders in order to understand the structure, policies and operations of an organization, and to recommend solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals. You will interpret client needs, assess requirements and identify solutions to non-standard issues and requests, provide advice and direction to clients, and contribute to solutions by providing input into strategy, workflows and delivery for assigned projects and programs.

Required Qualifications
Completion of a post-secondary degree in a related field, or equivalent level of education and experience.
Additional Required Qualifications
Business Analysis certificate. Advanced skills in MS Excel; Intermediate skills in MS Word, MS Visio. Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically about complex issues. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong time management and organizational skills. Able to meet project deadlines. Able to establish priorities, make independent decisions, respond to changing needs with minimal supervision. Expertise in project management and process improvement. Ability to work in a collaborative multidisciplinary team environment and build and maintain positive working relationships.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a Public Health program. Project Management courses or certification. Experience with process improvement initiatives. Experience with the Connect Care Clinical Information System. A strong understanding of Public Health Calgary Zone programs, operations and their connection to clinical information systems and client information management processes is preferred.
