JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Market Specialist position will customize vertical sales strategies and develop tactical sales plans for sales territories, driving revenue and profit growth, and support their execution. This position will be responsible for analyzing market trends, identifying new sales opportunities and threats, measuring sales performance, and designing action plans for their sales territories. The Market specialist will partner cross-functionally to ensure the sales team in their territory is equipped with the tools and resources they need to succeed.

JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS

Sales Territory

  • Customize and execute vertical strategies for sales territories, markets, segments and key customers.
  • Create and implement tactical sales plans for sales territories, markets, segments and key customers.
  • Develop comprehensive market knowledge and opportunities for sales and profit growth in their territory, including but not limited to the following:
    • Product - Customer needs, competition, differentiation, positioning, education requirements, post-sales service available, applications, etc.
    • Price - Value of product and service to customer, life cycle, market price points, price sensitivity, price positioning, etc.
    • Place - Distribution channels/network, how to sell products/services, sales force needs, etc.
    • Promotion - Target audience, launches, messaging, etc.
    • People - Understanding needs/wants, direction/focus, value propositions, alignment of resources with potential for return, etc.
  • Track and analyze the impact and performance of sales strategies, tactics, and playbooks to identify areas for improvement and develop mitigation or action plans.
  • Engage with key partners and customers in the field to represent Viega and strengthen our brand and relationships. Lead and support cross-functional efforts across Sales, Marketing, Product, Training, and other departments as required.
  • Assist with sales training efforts as required strategies, sales tactics and playbooks training efforts, providing ongoing support for Sales team.
  • Support Sales General Managers and Sales Leadership to meet goals and targets as required.

Partnership with Customer Organization and Product team

  • Serve as Sales liaison to Customer Organization and Product team.
  • Adapt Customer Organization and Product recommendations and solutions to territories, markets, segments or key accounts.
  • Support the creation, update and execution of Customer Org. and Product recommendations and solutions.

Leadership

  • Continually and proactively demonstrates strong leadership and project management skills in leading through influence, building strong partnerships, driving towards goals and supporting others.

Travel

  • Will be required to travel up to 60% of the time

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office package (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel), experience with data visualization software (e.g., Tableau or PowerBI), enterprise resource planning software (e.g., SAP, Business Warehouse, Salesforce). Data analytics platforms work experience preferred (e.g., Alteryx or Snowflake).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively presenting to our customers and at all levels of our organization.
  • Strong multi-tasking, organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to influence employees of all levels.
  • Self-motivated, self-starter who can work well with others as well as work independently.

Education, Certification/License & Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field. MBA preferred.
  • Three+ years of experience in Sales Management, Strategy / Consulting, or Business Development with a proven track record executing sales strategy and developing tactical sales plans.
  • Two+ years of leadership experience in a relevant industry (e.g., Construction, Construction Materials, Manufacturing) preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
