Industrial Electrician

The Industrial Electrician is responsible for troubleshooting, testing, inspection, and repairs of many types of industrial equipment. The ideal candidate will work effectively with the maintenance team and operations, have exposure to lockout procedures and working at heights while working on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronics and robotics systems. The successful candidate needs to be team player and must have the initiative to be able to work without direct supervision, able to work shifts and overtime when required. For the right candidate this position has potential for exponential future growth and many prospects for advancement.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting, testing, inspection, and repairs of many types of industrial equipment. This includes all electrical and mechanical equipment or components such as motors, pumps, lighting systems and fixtures, industrial I/O devices, industrial PCL control devices, electronic control devices, transformers, and distribution equipment, VFD’s and soft starters.
• Report and complete work orders and spare parts using a CMMS.
• Accountable for following all food Safety procedures; (SQF, GMPs and HACCP)
• Provide support to production in troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical breakdowns.
• Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance and calibration activities.
• Performs and assists on other maintenance duties as required.
• Use power and hand tools and equipment in an efficient manner and maintain them in a clean operating condition.
• Investigates equipment/machine failures and faulty operation and perform required repairs. Completes Maintenance reports and logs as required. Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics.
• Work cooperatively with other trades, operations personnel, and management to solve problems.
• Adheres to all company policies and procedures in maintaining a safe work environment for self and others.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• 3- 5 years’ experience in fast-paced manufacturing - preferably in the food industry.
• Industrial controls experience preferred (e.g. Allen Bradley PLC, Siemens PLC, VFD Drives, HMI, basic industrial networking).
• Excellent communication skills in English – written and verbal.
• Able to work independently and within a team environment.
• Ability to work unsupervised and Works well under stress.
• Computer Literate (Microsoft Office).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  
  

Shift timing: Tuesday to Saturday 9pm to 5am

Minimum Job Requirements

Education/Certifications:

• Industrial electrician ticket or equivalent, preferably RED seal
  
  

Working Conditions And Physical Effort

• Work involves daily exposure to unusual elements such as noise, dirt, dust, fumes, and darkness. Seasonal exposure to weather elements include, but are not limited to, extreme temperatures, hot and cold, wetness and humidity.
• Follow safety regulations, company policies, and guidelines
• Successful candidate should have the ability to safely and effectively repair failed production line equipment quickly under pressure
• Work environment involves daily exposure to physical risks such as working around mechanical equipment, forklifts, chemical hazards, and electrical hazards.
• Position requires the ability to be on your feet for a long extended part of your day, moving equipment up to 50 pounds; reaching and kneeling on a daily basis.
• Requires the ability to see, hear and communicate with associates as well as others by utilizing professional etiquette.
• Personal protective equipment, as defined by C.H. Guenther and Son, will be provided
