About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager - Department of Anesthesia and under the direction of the Anesthesiologist, the Anesthesia Assistant provides clinical and technical support in the pre-operative areas, operating rooms, post anesthesia care units and in other specialty areas contained within QEII facilities where anaesthesia services may be required on a 24/7 basis. The Anesthesia Assistant participates in the clinical management of the patient as well as providing assistance to ensure all resources required for the administration of anesthetic care to the patient are immediately available and ready for use.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Respiratory Therapists or eligible for registration
- Completion of an Anesthesia Assistant certification required
- CSRT membership with CCAA designation
- Minimum of two years experience as a respiratory therapist preferred
- Previous experience in the operating room area an asset
- Current BLS-C (HCP) and ACLS is required
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Physical Demands: The Anesthesia Assistant must be capable of repositioning anesthesia equipment (weights of up to 50 pounds) and supplies when required. Please ensure your resume is up to date and includes all relevant education, experience, training, and certifications.
Hours
- Permanent Full-time / 75 Hours Bi-weekly
- Shift work (8, 10, 12 hour shifts); days, nights and weekends
Compensation and Benefits
$40.81 - $51.31 Hourly
