Receiver

Company Introduction: T&T Supermarket Inc. was founded in 1993 with two stores in BC. Since then, it has expanded rapidly and is now Canada’s largest Asian supermarket chain with 31 stores across the country: 13 in BC, 7 in Alberta, 10 in Ontario, and 1 in Quebec. The Company’s continuous expansion is going to bring more new stores in the next couple of years.

The Role: Reporting to the Store Manager (or his/her delegate), the Receiving Associate is responsible for receiving incoming products and handling product returns and replacements. This position also requires providing good service to vendors and staff, and maintaining the receiving equipment and workplace.

Major Responsibilities

• Check the quantity, weight, and quality of products during receiving; process and sort related invoices and documents
• Assist Department Heads with handling returned and replaced products; manage shrinkage and examine obsolete items
• Follow procedures to execute in-store transfers
• Ensure receiving machinery, equipment, and working tools are regularly maintained and well-kept
• Maintain organized, clear, unblocked, and safe receiving areas
• Control backdoor access and enforce relevant policies
• Provide friendly service to vendors and staff

Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements

• Flexible to work shifts, including weekdays, weekends, and statutory holidays
• Ability to stand for long periods and handle lifting of products up to 40 pounds regularly
• Basic computer skills in MS Office
• Valid Fork Lift or Pallet Jack license
• Understanding of tools and equipment relevant to the job and ability to interpret merchandise labels
• Communication skills in English and Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) are an asset
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety
