Human Resources Co-op Student

J.D. Irving, Limited is seeking a motivated student to be part of our Corporate Human Resources team. Reporting to the Team Lead, Recruitment Operations, the Human Resources Student will play a key role in the administration and coordination of day-to-day Human Resources events, processes, and activities. The HR Student will be responsible for a variety of administrative and HR related activities that will give you an opportunity to gain valuable, hands-on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with team members from various departments on a variety of ad hoc requests
- Coordination and execution of student events, meetings, and training sessions
- Creating organizational announcements including arrivals, transfers, and new initiatives
- Lead and complete special projects
- Various administrative tasks
- Assist with other HR related duties that arise
Qualifications
- Enrollment in College or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field and in good academic standing
- Proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Goal oriented, demonstrate initiative, and enjoy working in a team environment
- Self-starter, attention to detail, punctual, consistent, and flexible to changing tasks
- Strong organization, event execution, and time management skills
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
