The Total Rewards Specialist is responsible for supporting the Head, Total Rewards with all compensation and benefits programs, including but not limited to annual compensation process, short term and long-term incentive plan management, job evaluations and market pricing and analysis, Workday compensation and job architecture administration, and pay equity analysis.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Contributing to the design, rollout and management of Total Rewards programs, policies and practices for base salary, incentive and benefits plans.

  • Assisting in the preparation of materials for the Compensation Committee (Executive team).

  • Participating in a variety of compensation and benefits surveys and providing an analysis of results for purposes of program changes or salary range structure as an example. Create quantitative and qualitative analyses on current and proposed total rewards programs including “what-if” scenarios by creating costing models to illustrate financial impact in supporting recommendations for management/executive review. Ensure compliance of programs and associated systems while providing regular as well as ad-hoc reporting.

  • Educating and liaising with HRBP team regarding job analysis and role profile review, evaluate jobs using established evaluation systems, determine grade level, and undertake market analyses while ensuring Pay Equity, Audit and Legislative compliance.

  • Working with Workday’s Human Capital Management and Advanced Compensation modules and having general knowledge of the associated set ups e.g. job profiles, grade and salary ranges and compensation plans.

  • Researching best practices and managing the development of related policies as well as maintaining relevant guidelines and procedures.

  • Providing education to employees on the benefit programs and preparing relevant and engaging communication and training materials.

  • Participating in the Job Evaluation process for salaried roles and provide supporting benchmarking research and analysis as needed.

  • Assisting with the annual compensation process.

  • Making recommendations on process improvements or enhancements with respect to benefits and compensation processes.

  • Evaluating, recommending and delivering wellness benefits programs and initiatives.

  • Working closely with payroll and other members of the HR team to advise/update any issues affecting employee pay.

  • Various other administrative duties, as required.

You bring:

  • Completion of post secondary degree and a certificate in Human Resources is preferred.

  • Minimum 3-5 years of related experience with compensation and benefits administration.

  • Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity.

  • Experience in compensation analysis and design and job evaluation.

  • Workday HCM and Advanced Compensation experience, including report writing.

  • Working knowledge of Pay Equity legislation and administration.

  • Exposure to Benefits & Pension design an asset.

  • Ability to work independently, taking initiative without instruction.

  • Demonstrated superior judgement and ability to ‘think on your feet’.

  • Ability to effectively manage competing priorities, often relating to sensitive information.

  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills, along with the ability to communicate and work collaboratively with firm members at all levels of responsibility.

  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical ability with comfort around numerical data.

  • Strong presentation skills, both written and verbal.

  • Strong team player with the ability to collaborate with team members and stakeholders both internally as well as external to the department and/or organization.
