Purpose:

To provide effective technical and administrative support to the Health & Safety (H&S) Team primarily at the corporate level.

Main Responsibilities & Activities:

  • Assist in maintenance of H&S programs and systems
  • Assist in converting older versions of operating procedures to Veren’s standards.
  • Assist with coordination and tracking required H&S compliance training, including scheduling, documenting, and tracking applicable training programs for Head Office and regulatory compliance programs, including WHMIS, TDG, H2S Alive, Standard First Aid, etc.
  • Coordinate administrative aspects and tracking of required inspections, including:
  • Monthly and annual inspections
  • Facility Audits
  • Appropriate records maintenance
  • Assist Area H&S Advisor with emergency response plans, including; Plan maintenance, emergency response drills & training, compilation of training notes for future instruction
  • Assist with ensuring all completed H&S reports and corrective actions are filed upon completion:
  • Facilitate the distribution and filing of H&S Information
  • Suggest improvements to H&S processes, tools, and protocols as applicable

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficient in use of computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Acumen, Visio, etc.)
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills to communicate and interact with other groups/functions.
  • Demonstrates initiative and is a self-starter, desire for learning, and is an effective team player
  • Possess excellent time management skills
