POSITION

As a key member of the Human Resources team, you will have the opportunity to be part of a fast-paced and dynamic HR team and support various HR functions and special projects. This individual will facilitate a positive and consistent employee experience throughout the entire employee life cycle. You will ensure that HR processes, which can include, recruitment, benefits administration, policy formulation, and training, are running smoothly. This role will report to the Human Resources Manager.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports HR Manager with special projects including the annual employee engagement survey, recognition events, and key corporate initiatives to foster a high-performing work culture
  • Tracks HR diligence completion and assists with acquisitions data and assists with post HR acquisition integration
  • Monitors compliance for the performance management process
  • Coordinate annual review of corporate policies and coordinates updates through Workday
  • Assists the HR Manager for information distribution and collection
  • Manages the onboarding and departure process
  • Updates and tracks the benefits administration process
  • Provides general guidance to managers and employees on HR functions and policies
  • Provides input to ensure sound HR practices for effective management of the HR function
  • Assists in HR and recruitment metrics and tracking and new hire training initiatives
  • Assists the HR Manager in creating new HR policies and revising when there are changes in legislation
  • Provides recruitment support to the recruiters by assisting in creating job descriptions, conducting reference checks, and pre-screening applicants.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality when handling sensitive documents and employee issues

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University degree or college diploma in a relevant discipline preferred
  • CHRP designation, or working towards, is an asset
  • 2 years working at a similar level
  • Experience with legislative compliance (including AODA, OHSA, and harassment in the workplace)
  • Proficient IT skill to be able to confidently navigate around Excel & HRIS (Workday experience is a bonus)
  • A self-starter with retained focus to prioritize and deliver
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; with the ability to build strong relationships with everyone within the organization
  • Strong attention to detail
