Course Information

This course explores and problematizes popular and theoretical notions of culture and intercultural learning under heightened transnationalism. Students engage with popular, literary, and visual representations of interculturality to critically reflect on self other relations in an interconnected world.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for all activities associated with the successful delivery of the course, including but not limited to: developing, preparing, and delivering the course; setting and marking examinations, assessing the academic work of students, and reporting grades.
Candidates must be willing to undertake training as required by the Employer including, but not limited to, training in respect of health and safety, harassment and discrimination, and legislated service standards.

Qualifications

The preferred candidate will have completed a PhD or equivalent in Education with a specialization in global, comparative, and international education with particular expertise in popular and theoretical notions of culture and intercultural learning. The preferred candidate will have familiarity with popular, literary, and visual representations of interculturality. Generally, instructors in the Global and International Education MPEd will have familiarity with key issues/initiatives in comparative education, development education, global citizenship education, globalization, and international/intercultural educational settings and a good understanding of the relations between larger discourses and local sites of practice in global and international education. The successful applicant will bring academic and professional strength and collaborative abilities to the position.

Course offerings could be assigned to the workload of full-time faculty or to part-time faculty with seniority or preference rights in accordance with the Faculty Collective Agreement, or left unfilled based on operational/enrolment requirements. All positions are subject to budget approval.
