About your next challenge as Material Management Site Representative - Bagotville (QC):
Reporting to Manager Material Management in Mirabel, the Material Management Site Representative will act as liaison between the L3Harris material management team in Mirabel, the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF), the L3Harris on-site operation team and the warehouse subcontractor on any subjects related to material.
The incumbent will work collaboratively with the customer and our subcontractor to meet the RCAF’s operational targets while providing the RCAF’s logisticians and operational planner with the guidance required on material management procedures. He will be the sole point of contact on the operating base for any contracted material requirement.
What will you do:
As the first line of reaction to the internal or external customer's needs in Material Management, the incumbent will:
- Act as the representative of L3Harris Material Management team with the RCAF Wing’s various levels of Logistic and operational planning organisations as well as the warehouse sub contractor;
- Apply efficient communication practices to ensure the various stakeholders are informed of Material Management priorities, concerns, issues or projects;
- Effectively manage customer communications with regards to the material availability, scope changes and schedule;
- Represent L3Harris during the integrated team reviews with the customer and/or warehouse subcontractor;
- Through coordination with the Wing’s Logistic and operational planning organisations, track the schedule of training and operational deployments, their requirements and report on their impacts on Pack-Up Kits (PUK) and material requirement to L3Harris Material Management team and the warehouse subcontractor;
- Provide regular training and mentorship sessions on current and updates on the Material Management processes and directives.
- In cooperation with the L3Harris Material Management team, provide mentorship to RCAF’s logisticians and operational planners at the Wing of the effective implementation and follow-up of the Material Management processes.
- In cooperation with L3Harris Material Management team, liaise with the warehouse subcontractor for the effective inventory and management of the L3Harris contracted portion of the PUKs.
- Support the effective coordination of the Material Management needs as identified by the Logistics and Operational planning cells of the Tactical Fighter Squadrons, Air Maintenance Squadron and Operational Support Squadron;
- Coordinate and tracks the repairs of components at 2nd Line by shops, being DND or L3Harris operated, to meet stocks requirements and readiness.
- Provide the shop managers with the updated monthly/quarterly production priorities;
- Track production rates and advise Material Management of any issues impacting capacity to meet these rates;
- Identify and coordinate the shipping of assemblies requiring 3rd line repairs.
- As directed by the Contract Manager Material Management, support the planning and scheduling of disposal requirements;
- Coordinate with CF188 Hornet Extension Project Lines, Special Project Lines and Periodic Production lines to ensure components requirements are met;
- Encourage and champion Continuous Improvement principles and projects related to Material Management;
- Complete projects and tasks as directed by the L3Harris Manager Material Management.
Required Skills and Experiences:
- College or undergraduate degree in a relevant field of expertise;
- Five (5) years of experience in management of logistics and material management, preferably in a military context;
- Experience dealing with people of various professional backgrounds involved in military operations planning;
- Knowledge of SAP;
- Knowledge of the MS Office suite;
- Be customer service and results oriented;
- Knowledge of different problem solving methods;
- Knowledge and experience in continuous improvement;
- Knowledge of laws and policies related to the environment, health and safety at work;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Bilingualism (English and French);
- Excellent interpersonal skills;
- Ability to communicate project related and technical details clearly and concisely;
- Ability to deal directly with internal and external customers;
- Ease of adaptation, strong customer service skills;
- Solid skills in teamwork, collaboration, adaptability, and operational flexibility in meeting objectives.
- Available to travel (10% of the time).
Eligibility Criteria (Mandatory):
- Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada “Reliability” status and Level 2 (Secret) security clearance;
- Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
