Job Description
A Co-op Student in the Build Strategy team will work to develop, maintain, expand, and refine the Build Strategy and associated analyses and evidence. The Build Strategy is a key source of information to align Irving Shipbuilding Inc (ISI) functions, sub-contractors, and customers on the approach for the construction of ships at Irving Shipbuilding.
Responsibilities
A Co-op Student in the Build Strategy team will work to develop, maintain, expand, and refine the Build Strategy and associated analyses and evidence. The Build Strategy is a key source of information to align Irving Shipbuilding Inc (ISI) functions, sub-contractors, and customers on the approach for the construction of ships at Irving Shipbuilding.
Responsibilities
- Investigate and resolve potential issues to construction.
- Perform capacity planning using simulation software for key work centers.
- Document all required aspects of the Build Strategy.
- Produce and contribute to the creation of the RC build schedule.
- Collaborate with multiple ISI functional teams to improve and prepare Shipyard processes for RCD production,
- Review RCD engineering documentation for application to and requirements for Build.
- Currently Enrolled in a 4-year degree program.
- 0-2 years’ experience.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, openness to learning.
- Skilled in organizing and managing a variety of tasks with varying priorities and ability to work within a team, but also confident to work unsupervised.
