North Bay Regional Health Centre is presently seeking a highly motivated individual who will join our clinical informatics team. The Clinical Informatics Analyst will have a focus on outpatient clinics/programs supporting nursing, allied, and front office staff utilizing MEDITECH Expanse modules. They will oversee end-user training, troubleshooting, support, and maintenance of our Health Information System. The Clinical Informatics Analyst will report directly to the Manager of Clinical Informatics & Information Systems. In this role, they will collaborate closely with various teams including: Patient Access Analysts, Clinical Informatics Analysts, Application Analysts, clinic/program leads, technical experts and/or vendors. Together, these teams will work on the design, implementation, adoption, and optimization of initiatives ensuring the successful integration and use of the (HIS) throughout the organization. This collaborative approach will help drive improvements in workflows, enhance patient care, and ensure the effective use of technology within the healthcare environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as a key change agent to facilitate implementation and adoption of new processes and/or clinical standards as well as continuous improvement and optimization.
  • Reviewing and maintaining MEDITECH Expanse modules as assigned.
  • Assess clinical user and front office staff needs and assist in developing proposals and solutions for those needs by engaging key stakeholders.
  • Provide ongoing support of current applications including troubleshooting errors, logging issues, tracking services requests and implementing needed changes to correct system problems.
  • Develop education plans, facilitate training and support of end users, and design/maintain training tools and user manuals; understand and apply the principles of adult education while providing training to stakeholders.
  • Recommend policy changes and process improvements pertaining to the use of the health information system applications.
  • Maintain knowledge of legislation, professional, hospital and accreditation standards and incorporate them into clinical information systems.
  • Perform audits as required, provide custom reports, data, and analysis of findings to identify areas for quality improvement and efficiency as it relates to HIS.
  • Participate on committees as assigned.
  • Collaborate with local and Regional ONE Health Information Technology Systems (HITS) partners.
  • Participate in vendor user group activities.
  • Provide on-call services as necessary.
  • Make presentations to a variety of audiences.
  • Protect confidentiality of patient information.
  • Perform cross-functional and other duties, as assigned and/or requested.

QUALIFICATIONS

Certification/Experience/Knowledge:

  • Successful completion of a Degree and/or Diploma of a healthcare regulated profession required with good standing.
  • Recent experience working in a hospital environment including expertise within a defined clinical department.
  • Demonstrated experience with MEDITECH module applications. Knowledge of and adherence to Hospital Standards of performance, and organizational policies and procedures.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Project management, quality improvement, and change management skills preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with the use of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Well developed and proven organizational, problem solving, analytical, and customer service skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to create and deliver effective presentations.
  • Able to function well within a team setting and independently.
  • Proven good attendance record with capabilities of maintaining the same standard.
  • Ability to be flexible and function in a dynamic environment subject to changes in schedules and priorities.
  • Strong initiative, establishing personal goals and taking responsibility for meeting them within defined timelines.

Criminal Reference Check including the Vulnerable Sector Check recent within six (6) months is a requirement.
