OVERVIEW
The Product Manager will work with a talented team of individuals who impact clients and users around the world with leading-edge Web technology products that solve complex business problems and workflows. Ensure the core product(s) you are entrusted with is consistently delivered on time and with high levels of quality. The Product Manager’s mandate will be to evolve products that help turn customer, market and transactional data into actionable insights and meaningful recommendations driving growth, revenue and improving customer engagement across all our lines of business. The Product Manager will help define strategy, profitability and roadmap and bring it to reality.
The Product Manager is focused on delivering a customer-centric experience, taking direct ownership, being proactive, and challenging others to optimize solutions such that they are scalable and robust. The Product Manager will need to exhibit excellent judgment, prioritizing between different business needs and between features, architectural improvements, and operational excellence. The Product Manager will bring a good mix of experience with loyalty solutions, product management skill set, and a roll-up-your-sleeves, entrepreneurial approach.
As the primary custodian of the product roadmap and prioritization, the Product Manager’s commitment to filling role gaps is necessary to continuously build the best product possible. The Product Manager’s broad range of product responsibilities including design and workflow to collaborating with business leaders and partners to develop plans and strategies for roadmap execution. The Product Manager maintains full understanding of product systems and dependencies, while continuing to provide vision and direction to the product roadmap to ensure that it addresses the needs of the business today and for the foreseeable future.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Gain a deep understanding of customer experience (via internal and external stakeholders), identify and fill product gaps and generate new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth.
- Drive functional and technology efficiencies into our product(s) by working with our business operations, CSR and technology teams.
- Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners.
- Translate product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes.
- Scope and prioritize activities based on business and customer impact.
- Work closely with engineering teams and other product managers to deliver with quick time-to-market and optimal resources.
- Be the primary liaison for the product(s), including working with our clients, marketing, client success, finance, sales, executives, and other product management team members.
- Evaluate plans to ensure that they are consistent with product line strategy and that the message is effectively conveyed.
- Act as a product advocate to build awareness and understanding.
- Represent the company by working directly with customers and partners to solicit feedback on company products and services.
- Ensure all policy standards and compliance initiatives are met as related to the product(s).
- Manage stakeholder expectations and align senior leadership on vision & roadmap and regularly keeps managers and stakeholders apprised of progress.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of product management or business analyst experience working with software solutions. Industry experience in Loyalty and E-commerce preferred.
- Strong knowledge of product management principles and have a set of tried and tested best practices.
- Demonstrated experience building scalable platforms for large enterprises.
- Ability to easily build relationships and have been part of large, cross functional teams that are working to solve complex problems and build products for millions of Canadians (both customers and colleagues).
- Strong customer first approach to building products, leveraging research and data paired with empathy to build experiences that create customer stickiness.
- Demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit and are willing to roll up your sleeves to get the job done.
- Strong obsession with testing and experimentation is a core pillar of how you approach product development.
- Strong growth mindset – knowing there always is a better way to do things and are willing to disrupt yourself or the status quo to achieve that goal.
- Knowledge of business terminology and ability to tie it to data.
- Excellent communication skills with solid stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent problem solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and sift through ambiguity.
- Strong attention to detail and project management skills.
- Solid understanding and proficiency in using data analytics tools is an asset.
