Event Server

St. Michael’s Health Group (SMHG) is a leading seniors’ housing and long-term care facility dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care to our senior residents. We offer several levels of accommodation in multiple facilities and various programs in Edmonton and the surrounding area.

Our Heritage Hall venue specializes in creating memorable experiences for weddings, corporate events, private parties, and other special occasions. Our team is passionate about delivering excellent service and ensuring every detail is handled with care. We are seeking enthusiastic and professional casual Event Servers to join our team. As an Event Server, you will play a key role in delivering outstanding service to our clients and their guests. You will be responsible for setting up, serving, and maintaining a high standard of hospitality throughout the event.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Set up tables, linens, chairs, and other event components according to the event plan.
• Serve food and beverages in an efficient and courteous manner.
• Ensure that buffet items are well stocked.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace during the event.
• Collect and wash dirty dishes during the function.
• Assist with event breakdown and clean-up.
• Respond promptly to guest needs and requests.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Collaborate with the event team to ensure a seamless experience.

Qualifications:

• Completion of grade 10 or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous experience working in a food service/hospitality environment is required.
• Must be 14 years of age or older.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills are required.
• The business language of the corporation is English. Knowledge of a second language would be an asset.
• Completion of a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check through Edmonton Police Services.
