Casino Ajax is seeking a Part-time Dual-Rate Surveillance Supervisor!
Under the general direction of the Surveillance Manager or designate, this position is responsible for daily on-going monitoring and observation of Casino operations, while ensuring the security and integrity of Casino assets, staff, and guests. The ideal candidate is an energetic professional with proven knowledge, skills, and abilities to govern over a high-paced, pressured filled environment. You will be accountable for the staff, assigning duties, briefing/monitoring of employees, and overseeing occurrences as they develop. You will also contribute to a safe and welcoming work environment for all employees.
Role Responsibilities
- Supervising, managing, and delegating Surveillance Operators' daily tasks, maintaining awareness of all gaming operations at all times
- Communicates effectively and interacts with internal and external customers while delivering exceptional customer service
- Must be reliable, diligent, and maintain a high level of integrity
- Safeguard confidential information and prevents its improper disclosure or use
- Investigate, report, and document all irregular, unusual, suspicious, or illegal activities
- Maintains and verifies logs, enters information into trackers and timesheets, prepares and verifies departmental reports
- Monitors, documents, and reports violations, unauthorized access, large cash/cash equivalent transactions, trespassed, and self-excluded guests
- Stores records securely for evidence purposes
- Monitors and reports on the conditions of Surveillance facilities and equipment; performs preventative maintenance on equipment as required
- Provides training and coaching to all new team members
- Assist the management team with projects as needed
- Ensures health and safety directives are followed and other statutory regulations
- Performs other duties as directed by Surveillance Manager or designate
- Ensures compliance with Alcohol and Gaming Commission regulations and applicable laws and policies
- Knowledge of Table Games and the gaming industry considered an asset
- Ability to work all shifts (including evenings, weekends, and holidays)
Qualifications
- Secondary School diploma, with preference to graduates with a post-secondary education in Law and Security or Criminology
- A minimum of 1 (one) or more years in Surveillance/Security related fields or gaming related positions, with preference to Supervisory experience of 1 (one) or more years
- Strong leadership, analytical, observational, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Proactive and solution-oriented skills with strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Knowledge of computer applications – MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint
- Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective, and service-oriented communication
- The ability to obtain registration as a category 1 Gaming Assistant (license) with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario
Candidates must be ready and willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnights. The hours of work will be based on operational needs. Ready to embark on your next adventure?
