Heading all areas of expertise relating to human resources throughout the agency, you will play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of innovative talent management strategies. You will supervise the human resources team comprising a talent acquisition director, a human resources manager, and a human resources and culture coordinator.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human relations, industrial relations, or a related field (CPHR or equivalent title, an asset)
  • 2+ years in a similar role, ideally at a service company, with experience managing an HR team
  • Sound knowledge of labour laws and regulations
  • Experience with the installation and supervision of an HRIS (Folks HR, an asset)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and English will enable you to readily interact with your colleagues in Canada

Main responsibilities

Talent acquisition, retention and development

  • Advise senior management and managers on the expanding team structures and corporate salary structures.
  • Supervise the talent acquisition director in her recruitment activities and guide how Lemieux Bédard forms its teams in Canada.
  • Engage the managers to ensure an employee experience.
  • Forge proactive and positive professional relationships with each employee and manager to help maintain a healthy working environment.
  • Support the managers in the collection and analysis of performance data and indicators and produce various reports as required. Assist the managers with performance evaluations to standardize the process for the agency and coach them in their work. Oversee the annual evaluation process.
  • Collaborate on introducing training programs to improve employee skills. Coach the managers on the identification of professional development needs and recommend strategies to help employees thrive.
  • Devise leadership development programs and programs to stimulate diversity and inclusion.
  • Retain facts from the annual employee survey and advise the senior managers accordingly.

Organizational development, human resources, and internal management

  • Ensure compliance with labour laws and corporate policies.
  • Oversee the smooth operation of employee file updates and coach the managers on good practices.
  • Serve as the head and facilitator of the human resources management committee.
  • Support the managers on issues impacting their teams and with employee relationships. Provide advice for conflict resolution and disciplinary action, and in situations requiring performance turnaround.
  • Oversee draft HR policies and procedures.
  • Monitor competitors’ benefits and advise senior management accordingly.
  • Ensure compliance with pay equity guidelines.
  • Supervise the implementation (Phase 2) and optimization of our HR management system (Folks HR).
  • Coach the personnel reporting to them and evaluate their performance from a perspective of continuous improvement.
