Position Details
The University External Relations Office is currently accepting applications for an Alumni Programs Advisor. This is a full-time, continuing position reporting to the Director of Alumni and Community Relations. This position is responsible for providing leadership in the planning, development and execution of the University’s alumni engagement program, including leadership-level volunteer engagement and revenue generation. This position plays a key role in the delivery of campus-wide services and alumni engagement programs and strategies designed to advance meaningful relationships with the University’s largest stakeholder group. This includes identifying and articulating alumni relations priorities and opportunities, oversight of central programs and events for the alumni audience, and providing counsel across the institution on issues relating to alumni relations and alumni engagement. The Alumni Programs Advisor will work collaboratively with University leaders, multiple internal teams and external stakeholders to execute a cross-functional strategy that includes programs, communications and engagement opportunities that build connection, involvement and support for the University.
This position oversees operations of the University’s primary alumni advisory body, the ULethbridge Alumni Association (ULAA), ensuring continued engagement and maximum support through consultation regarding both the Alumni Relations strategy and broader institutional objectives. This includes recruitment, retention and management of leadership-level volunteers. This position also manages revenue generation programs and initiatives, ultimately securing, growing and retaining funding that supports the University’s key strategic priorities.
To be successful, the position requires advanced communication and problem-solving skills to implement business models and programs that engage alumni at various life stages and measurably advance their involvement with the University.
Position Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong customer service and partnership lens.
- Experience working with a volunteer Board of Directors.
- Demonstrated volunteer management experience, including recruiting, training, and implementing strategies to ensure a positive volunteer experience.
- Experience designing and delivering complex programs including evaluating and measuring program effectiveness and outcomes required.
- Project management skills, including attention to detail, prioritization of work and organizational skills required.
- Critical decision-making, respect, and adherence to confidentiality.
- Ability to compose professional level correspondence.
- Ability to work with a diverse range of personalities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of ULethbridge’s culture and stakeholders is an asset.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and reporting (Raiser’s Edge preferred).
- Proven experience with implementing and managing stakeholder engagement programs.
- Knowledge of affinity programming, contract development, revenues, control and reporting procedures, practices and policies.
