We are looking for a Tool Room Manager– a skilled individual who is responsible for the efficient, cost effective and proficient operation of the tool room in production of new tooling, modifications and maintenance of existing tooling

What You Will Do

  • Fully brief the Vice President of Tier 2 Engineering on the current situation in the tool room.
  • Maintain MicroMain maintenance program for existing tooling and tool room equipment.
  • Supervise the efficient construction of new tooling projects both internally and externally.
  • Ensures that the tool room meets dead lines within cost estimates.
  • Ensures that the quality assurance is maintained within acceptable standards.
  • Oversee receipt of raw material and supplies for the tool room.
  • Oversees mould sampling of new tools and initiates corrective actions required.
  • Liaison with Engineering /design dept and moulding dept.
  • Properly coach and or train tool room personnel in regards to safety, and skills needed to improve in their job.
  • Create SolidWorks design updates based on internal and external feedback.
  • Ensure that all business is performed with an attention to detail and are done in accordance with the Southmedic Quality System, mission and values.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets in the assigned territory.
  • Actively work with the current territory manager(s) to leverage skills and knowledge to best achieve sales goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and healthcare professionals within hospitals.
  • Provide product education and training to healthcare staff, ensuring they are proficient in the use of our respiratory products.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, trials and presentations to showcase the value and benefits of our solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing and customer support, to ensure seamless customer experiences.
  • Stay current with industry trends, competitive products, and market developments.

What We Need

  • Should possess a post-secondary education, as well as post secondary in related fields.
  • At least 10 years experience in mould making, and strong knowledge of CNC and CNC programming procedures.
  • Problem solving skills are essential to ensure that the tool room and personnel are managed in a cost effective and efficient manner.
  • Must possess a strong background in mould making, trouble shooting of injection moulds
  • Design new injection mold tooling and execute mold design modifications based on customer design updates
  • Ideal candidate will have CNC and Tool path generation as well as Mould design, quoting of new tooling project
  • Proven ability to improve cycle times and improve existing weakly designed tools and part assemblies. Provide proper training and guidance for Apprentices and junior toolmakers.
  • Track/Trend repeat tool failures and provide mitigating suggestions and solutions
