Job Description
Working as part of the Engineering team, this role will support the Project Manager of Engineering Change, to educate and communicate cross-functionally to drive engineering changes through the River Class Destroyer (RCD) end-to-end process. Managing the complexities of engineering change effectively is a business-critical element, aligned to achieving the required design maturity, efficiency and agility required to enable major program milestones and continued cost-effective production of RCD against a defined baseline.
Responsibilities
Working as part of the Engineering team, this role will support the Project Manager of Engineering Change, to educate and communicate cross-functionally to drive engineering changes through the River Class Destroyer (RCD) end-to-end process. Managing the complexities of engineering change effectively is a business-critical element, aligned to achieving the required design maturity, efficiency and agility required to enable major program milestones and continued cost-effective production of RCD against a defined baseline.
Responsibilities
- Use existing tools to track RCD engineering changes, working cross functionally and collaboratively to ensure the tool remains up to date.
- Maintain change metrics to enable status reporting at all levels of the business.
- Identify the root cause of any issues preventing change progress using suitable process development and lean toolsets. Escalate to line management as required.
- Provide guidance and assistance to the engineering team to navigate related change processes by use of developing user-guides and presentations as required.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within job scope area.
- Complete non-technical review of change documents to ensure compliance with established processes.
- Project Management qualification such as CAPM or PMP an asset.
- Business Administration experience required.
- 2-5 years’ experience working on a complex program.
- Microsoft Office toolset experience including advanced Excel skills.
- Analytical problem solving under supervision.
- Develop presentations and reports.
