HR Business Partner
As an HR Business Partner at Safe Software, you’ll act as a trusted partner to managers and employees, driving organizational success through effective HR strategies. You’ll align HR initiatives with business objectives, ensuring a high-performing, and engaging work environment. This role combines a hands-on approach with the ability to implement effective HR practices that support company growth and employee success. You’ll play a key role in our team’s success by offering actionable guidance, implementing impactful HR programs, and fostering a workplace culture that is both positive and highly productive.
About The Team
You’ll join Safe’s dynamic and collaborative HR team, composed of specialists in recruitment, HR operations, and employee engagement. What You’ll Be Doing
As an HR Business Partner, you will:
Performance and Development
- Guide managers on performance management processes, including goal setting, feedback, and evaluations.
- Coach managers through the creation and execution of career action plans that align with business priorities.
Employee Relations
- Provide expertise on conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, workplace investigations, and terminations, ensuring outcomes align with employment regulations and company values.
- Act as a mediator and resource to foster positive and productive work relationships.
Talent Acquisition Support
- Participate in candidate interviews and contribute to decisions to select top talent.
- Collaborate with hiring teams to ensure recruitment processes reflect Safe’s culture and values.
HR Program Implementation
- Assist in the rollout and continuous improvement of HR programs, including onboarding, training, and engagement initiatives in your business unit.
- Measure program effectiveness through employee feedback and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Policy and Compliance
- Advise on HR policies while ensuring alignment with employment laws and regulations while promoting a culture of fairness and inclusion.
- Stay abreast of provincial employment laws and propose updates to maintain legal and procedural alignment.
Employee Advocacy
- Respond promptly to employee inquiries with a focus on resolution, empowerment, and trust-building.
- Act as an advocate for employees, promoting a workplace culture rooted in respect and inclusion.
Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies
Safers come from a variety of backgrounds with a diversity in skills and knowledge. That said, we find that those who are most successful in this role have experience with the following areas.
Required skills:
- Demonstrated experience in employee relations, performance management, and policy interpretation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build credibility and influence across diverse teams.
- Advanced understanding of employment legislation and compliance practices across Canada.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate sensitive situations with confidentiality, tact, and professionalism.
Nice to have skills:
- 5-7 years experience in an HR Generalist or business partner roles.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems and data-driven decision-making in HR processes.
Performance Metrics
Success in this role will be measured by:
- Employee satisfaction and engagement scores within supported teams.
- Manager feedback on HR partnership quality and effectiveness.
- Timely resolution of employee relations issues while maintaining compliance.
- Achievement of targets in HR program participation and impact.
