MHICA has two state-of-the-art facilities combined to 476,000 sq. ft. This comprises of Manufacturing & Assembly, Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain, where more than 400 highly skilled employees are working on Bombardier's sector-leading Global 5000/6000 and Challenger 350 business aircraft. MHICA's technicians build and join wing assemblies and fuselage sections, as well as perform systems and flight control assembly installations and testing.

Scope of Position

Reporting to the Manager – Tooling, the Jr. Inspector - Tooling will be responsible for inspecting and supporting modification of Aerospace Tooling, ranging from small Detail Tools through to Major Assembly Fixtures and Aerospace Structures. Working closely with other Tooling Inspectors, Toolmakers and Engineers, the Inspector will:

  • Use Laser Trackers and conventional techniques to inspect Aerospace Tooling and Aircraft Structures, ensuring all tools are inspected to meet safety and engineering requirements.
  • Inspect and support building new and/or modify existing Tooling, trouble shooting and conducting receiving inspections for externally manufactured Tooling.
  • Create inspection reports and ensure all Tooling is Stamped and Certified per our QMS.
  • Support external vendors Tooling QA needs.
  • Keep the Team Lead – Tooling well informed of daily operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret Engineering Drawings and documentation.
  • Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing techniques (GD & T).
  • Ability to work overtime outside of regular working hours when required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Must be willing and able to:
    • Work at heights (3rd floor of jigs)
    • Bend, twist, walk on uneven surfaces and climb stairs repeatedly during shift
    • Perform heavy lifting (< 40 lbs) as needed
  • Exposure to quality systems and safety fundamentals.
  • Ability to work well and maintain professionalism under pressure
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn new tasks.

Experience

  • Entry Level position - The following would be considered as a strong asset for the candidate:
    • Aerospace Tooling knowledge / previous experience.
    • Metrology knowledge / previous experience.
    • Aerospace or manufacturing experience.

Education

  • College Diploma (preferably Mechanical or Aerospace).
