Police Exhibit Custodian

The Opportunity:

Responsible for the care, control, storage, disposition, destruction, and administration of a large variety of Criminal, Liquor, Firearms, and Drug Exhibits, including all recovered, lost, found, and/or stolen property. Self-audits exhibits to ensure accuracy.

As our preferred candidate, you will have:

• Grade 12 or equivalent. Minimum 2 years experience in a police environment, providing knowledge of police procedures, rules of evidence, court procedures, and the safe storage and handling of exhibits. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Previous police experience an asset.
• Ability to be appointed as a Provincial Special Constable and pass the RCMP Security Clearance screening.
• Must be in good physical health. Ability to handle heavy, bulky exhibits, and lift bicycles on hooks above shoulder height is a must.
• Must possess strong interpersonal and people skills. Above average skills in written and oral communication.
  Possess strong time management skills with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must be flexible and organized.
• Ability to be a team player, handle stress, and deal with members and co-workers in a professional manner.
• Ability to successfully complete RCMP PROS users course, CPIC and PIRS Data Entry course.
• Ability to type at least 40 wpm.
• Possess a valid WHIMIS certificate.

Remuneration:

$36.50 to $38.42 per hour.

Hours of Work:

75 hours biweekly. Shift work predominately Monday to Friday. Some evening and weekend work may be required.
