Position Details
Under the immediate supervision of the Housing Maintenance Supervisor, the General Maintenance Worker will aid in the assessment and resolution of work orders within the residence facilities. Typical duties may include room inspections for cleaning and maintenance, carpet repairs, furniture cleaning, re-hanging of cupboard doors, counter and drawer repairs, moving furniture, minor drywall repairs, painting, trash removal, preventive maintenance, battery lock replacement and other duties as assigned. A valid unrestricted Class 5 Driver’s License with no more than 6 demerits and submission of a motor vehicle record (driver abstract) dated within 3 months of the posting close is required.
Position Qualifications
Interested applicants should have a background in repair work, practical knowledge of some of the above skills, a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. Excellent interpersonal skills would be considered an asset, as would a valid driver’s license.
Starting Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE)
$3,135.00 - $3,433.00 monthly
Full Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE)
$3,135.00 - $3,729.00 monthly (AUPE - Grade 3)
