We are looking for a leader to join our office to provide strategic and operational leadership for our Recruitment, Admissions & Transfer and Scholarship & Student Finance teams. The right candidate will be someone who believes in the value and transformative experiences of higher education. The ideal candidate should be confident in their understanding and experience in the Alberta post-secondary landscape including areas such as International and Graduate admissions. This position would suit you if you:
- Are intrinsically motivated to support the development and success of your teams and our students, seeking to remove perceived barriers to access the University and facilitating operational practices that build on the capacity in your teams.
- Understand how to support students as they navigate the complexity of post-secondary decision making within the higher education system, familiar with the resources available to students seeking financial aid and the access challenges and limitations of those resources.
- Have excellent communication skills, believe in transparent leadership and teamwork to achieve operational success.
- Identify and develop the skills of your team for the betterment of serving students and for the betterment of each individual team member.
- Have experience with Banner (or other Student Information Systems), Blackbaud (or other award management system) and CRMs is an advantage in this position.
Reporting to the Registrar and Executive Director of SEM, the Assistant Registrar of Enrolment will be responsible for supporting and developing the teams within the portfolio. In this role, you are accountable for providing leadership directly to three Managers and indirectly to their teams totaling 24 talented Student Affairs professionals. The incumbent also has significant financial accountabilities across the portfolio. This role will develop the annual enrolment tactical plan to align our efforts with institutional enrolment goals. This position will also support the development and implementation of the Strategic Awards plan. You will participate in and lead some institutional committees that support these areas, as well as participate in policy reviews. A keen eye for the effective use of departmental budgets is essential.
A valid unrestricted Class 5 Driver’s License with no more than 6 demerits and submission of a motor vehicle record (driver abstract) dated within 3 months of the posting close is required.
Position Qualifications
The successful candidate will have an undergraduate degree, a minimum of four years related experience in a post-secondary institution, and proven leadership experience. Additionally, expertise in Strategic Enrolment Management is a necessity. The ability to maintain effective working relationships with members of the university community and the general public is also required.
Starting Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE)
$84,500.57 - $106,301.68 annually
Full Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE)
$84,500.57 - $128,102.79 annually (APO - Grade 5)
