What You’ll Do
The Labour Relations Assistant has two primary objectives:
- Meet the scheduling needs for all units with complex schedules (i.e., units that operate 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, requiring staff replacement in the event of absence) based on the appropriate collective agreement language, PRHC policies, legislation, scheduling protocols and unit needs established by the unit manager.
- Provide a positive scheduling experience for the staff, the manager, the unit and the organization as a whole through timely and respectful communication, accurate and consistent service delivery, anticipation of scheduling needs, and initiation of suggestions for improvement in scheduling.
What You’ll Bring
- One to two years of experience in a related work environment
- Previous experience in Staffing/Scheduling with an understanding of Collective Agreements (ONA, CUPE, and OPSEU) and scheduling rules in a hospital environment is preferred
- Experience with a computerized scheduling program (KRONOS) is preferred
- Excellent computer skills
- Excellent data entry and analysis skills.
- Post-secondary diploma in Human Resources, Business or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
