Position: Instructor - Dental Assistant
Location: Reeves College Edmonton South
Salary: $32/hr

Key Responsibilities:

Instructional Delivery

  • Teach curriculum-aligned courses, promote critical thinking, and ensure a conducive learning environment.
  • Prepare lesson plans, teaching aids, and address student absences effectively.

Student Evaluation

  • Assess student performance fairly through assignments, exams, and feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide timely progress updates.

Curriculum Development

  • Update course materials and contribute to curriculum enhancements.
  • Seek approvals for major revisions.

Administrative Support

  • Handle attendance, records, and other administrative tasks efficiently.
  • Collaborate with staff and participate in evaluations.

Upholding Standards

  • Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and adherence to college policies.
  • Address academic dishonesty and foster respectful interactions.

Campus Engagement

  • Attend campus events, meetings, and substitute when needed.

Practicum Supervision

  • Oversee students’ progress during clinical placements, ensuring alignment with objectives.

Requirements:

  • Degree/Diploma in Dental/Dental Assisting.
  • 2+ years of practical experience; teaching credentials preferred.
  • Current licensure or certification (e.g., CDSBC, NDAEB) preferred.
  • Strong communication, teaching, and industry-relevant skills.
  • Technological proficiency to support learning.
