POSITION SUMMARY
As a representative of The Vancouver Club, the Dishwasher plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen environment. This position ensures the kitchen team has the tools and resources needed to deliver exceptional culinary experiences to members and guests. The role requires a professional demeanor and a commitment to teamwork and excellence.
Reporting to the Chef de Cuisine, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide consistent, professional, and proactive support to colleagues while maintaining a friendly and cooperative attitude.
- Operate and maintain industrial dishwashing equipment efficiently.
- Ensure dishes, silverware, and kitchen tools are cleaned, sanitized, and readily available for use.
- Sort, stack, and safely store cleaned items in designated areas, maintaining an organized system.
- Identify and remove chipped or broken items from circulation, ensuring proper documentation and inventory control.
- Perform opening and closing tasks, following established checklists and procedures.
- Execute cleaning responsibilities as directed by the Chef de Cuisine, including floors, work surfaces, and equipment.
- Ensure floors are clean and dry to maintain a safe work environment.
- Adhere to department policies, procedures, and service standards.
- Support green initiatives, including recycling and waste reduction efforts, to promote sustainability.
- Actively contribute to a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to meet operational needs.
