Job Summary & Responsibilities
The teacher will be responsible for academic support (responding to student questions through Brightspace and email) and all marking for the courses listed above. AVS is a continuous enrollment environment and thus the teacher will be responsible for supporting all students in the course; some students will be starting at the beginning and others will be partly through.
The successful candidate will teach Spanish Intro 11, Spanish Level 1, and Spanish Level 2.
Education & Experience
Secondary teacher training with a major in Spanish
Experience teaching at AVS or in an online environment is an asset
Experience using D2L Brightspace
Demonstrated experience in differentiated instruction to support all learners with various needs
Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional learning and the implementation of high impact instructional strategies.
Demonstrated highly effective interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to communicate complex or sensitive issues in a positive manner.
Demonstrated ability to use assessment as an effective tool for learning and charting progress.
Demonstrated ability to model safe, caring, and inclusive behavior and commitment to the success of all learners.
Satisfactory teacher evaluation and/or final practicum report(s).
Eligible for B.C. Certifications
