Behaviour Interventionist/Therapist

Position: Behaviour Interventionist/Therapist (Part-Time, Permanent)

Location: Terrace BC Child Development Centre

Hours: 20-hours per week

Wage: $25.75 per hour

Do you enjoy working with youth? Would you like to learn more about behaviours and therapeutic processes? Join the Family Connections Centre as a behaviour therapist! Utilize your skills with children while expanding your technical and clinical experience. Operating out of the Terrace Child Development Centre, you will be working alongside a team of dedicated clinicians and professionals. Behaviour therapists implement customized teaching programs in direct therapy sessions for children aged 0-19 years old. You will be part of an interdisciplinary team, supported and supervised by a Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst. Training and exposure to a variety of clinical experiences and educational resources will be provided. We are a team of compassionate, energetic, and eager practitioners looking to support Terrace’s youth.

Description Of Position

Reporting to the Clinical Lead of the Terrace Behaviour Support Team, the Behaviour Therapist is a permanent, part-time employee of Sources Community Resources.

General Responsibilities

• Case management and report writing.
• Contribute to a strong team environment.
• Attending and participating in regularly scheduled team meetings.
• Some administration duties are required.
  
  

Program Specific Responsibilities

• Learning, teaching, and demonstrating positive behaviour support strategies.
• Using teaching methods to improve specific developmental goals as guided by Behaviour Consultants and Behaviour Analysts.
• Collecting session data, monitoring, recording, and reviewing client progress with consultants, supervising Behaviour Analysts, and other clinic therapists.
• Writing accurate session notes and maintaining files.
• Preparing teaching materials and other program resources directed by Behaviour Consultants.
• Providing secondary support to Behaviour Consultants (session preparation, session clean-up, data tracking, etc.).
  
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma, two years post-secondary education in a related field preferred (psychology, education, social work, etc.)
• Experience working with children. Experience with neurodiverse youth is an asset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Available for work 20 hours/week, possibility of extra shifts available.
• Valid Class 5BC driver’s license.
• Criminal record check required.
