Medical Lead, Anesthesia

The Medical Lead, Anesthesia position is a co-leadership role with operational decision-making responsibilities. The Medical Lead works proactively with others, including patients, to enhance teamwork and facilitate continuous quality improvement of services. This position reports to the Site Medical Director.

Main responsibilities of this position:

Leadership

• Co-leads activities to ensure teamwork among physicians and staff to monitor and improve service delivery; links with Division Heads and Chiefs of Staff on physician governance and professional medical practice issues.

Operations & Quality

• Implements processes to engage physicians and staff in continuous quality improvement; monitors budget and performance with Co-Leader; initiates investigations of PSLS and PCQO events.

Change Management

• Acts as a change management champion, engaging and supporting physicians and staff through change.

Informatics

• Leads team activities that advance technology and data use to improve service delivery using electronic health records in collaboration with the Quality Systems team.

Planning

• Assesses and prioritizes team resource needs with medical and administrative leaders within available resources.
