Location: Across Canada

Status: Contract or Full-Time

Responsibilities

• Manage SQL Server databases, ensuring optimal performance and uptime
• Configure and maintain database servers and processes to meet organizational needs
• Monitor system health and performance to identify and address potential issues
• Ensure high levels of database performance, availability, sustainability and security
• Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing effective solutions
• Refine and automate regular processes while documenting changes
• Collaborate with developers for query tuning and schema refinement
• Conduct scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities, including after-hours work as needed
  
  
  

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• Formal education in IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields
• Extensive experience as an MS SQL Server DBA
• Advanced SQL skills with a strong focus on performance tuning and optimization
• Proven expertise in T-SQL performance tuning and query optimization
• A proactive approach to identifying and solving database challenges

• Knowledge of additional database platforms or tolls
