Job Description

As an Account Manager at Doka Canada, your role involves managing a designated sales territory (Edmonton and Northern Alberta), focusing on retaining existing accounts and cultivating new business opportunities. You play a crucial part in expanding Doka's market presence by strategically maximizing sales and fostering strong client relationships. You are enthusiastic about traveling, enjoy engaging with people, and appreciate working in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify Potential Customers: Proactively seek out potential clients through cold calls, converting prospects into sales meetings.
  • Develop and Expand Accounts: Cultivate new and existing accounts, nurturing business relationships through face-to-face interactions.
  • Maintain Customer Database: Regularly update and utilize a comprehensive customer/prospect database, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
  • Travel Within Sales Territory: Frequent travel within your assigned territory is essential for engaging with clients, addressing their needs, and ensuring strong relationships.
  • Prepare and Present Proposals: Develop sales proposals, obtain necessary approvals, and present compelling proposals to clients.
  • Collaboration: Communicate effectively with engineering teams to ensure accurate proposals and project execution. Collaborate with sales and area managers to align with company and branch sales initiatives.
  • Provide Customer Support: Conduct regular jobsite visits to ensure proper equipment utilization and customer satisfaction, addressing any issues promptly.
  • Sales Reporting: Maintain timely and accurate sales reports, contributing to sales projections and backlog management.
  • Product Knowledge: Continuously build product knowledge and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or Construction preferred.
  • Min. 5 years of Sales/Account Management experience in construction industry. Experience in infrastructure or mining is an asset.
  • Must speak French; English is an asset
  • Strong analytical skills, technical proficiency, and effective selling and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and willingness to learn new systems and techniques.
