The Fort Hills Planning and Scheduling Team is eager to welcome a motivated Maintenance Scheduler to our team!
Minimum Requirements:
- Trade Certificate, Diploma or Degree in a relevant technical field, or equivalent technical / operational experience
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, along with the ability to evaluate, interpret and integrate information from various sources and disciplines
- Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to make decisions with integrity and support company objectives and policies
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and presentation skills. Demonstrate the ability to simplify complex situations and present them clearly
- Proficient in the use of SAP and Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
- Understanding of the OEMS Manage Maintenance Process is an asset
Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed, logical, and comprehensive maintenance schedules, ensuring all required resources, including labor, materials, services, equipment, tools, and assets, are confirmed as available and allocated
- Facilitate weekly schedule lookahead and lockdown meetings, along with any additional meetings required to ensure effective performance (e.g. workforce sharing, MEC alignment)
- Conduct a comprehensive review of the released work backlog to identify optimal groupings, considering factors such as asset type, system functionality, geographical location, and other relevant criteria
- Develop draft schedules for a rolling 3-to-6-week period, ensuring alignment with site priorities and operational goals
- Evaluate available capacity against released work while maintaining visibility of unreleased work to ensure efficient resource utilization
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and resolve scheduling constraints, including labor, materials, and service availability
- Optimize the sequencing of released job plans by considering factors such as multi-craft alignment, travel and permitting requirements, mobilization needs, and equipment transport logistics
- Manage work within identified constraints, escalating unresolved issues beyond the role's scope to the appropriate level (e.g. material arrival delays, labor capacity limitations)
- Maintain the integrity of the backlog and understand outstanding work within area of responsibility. Collaborate with Execution, Planning, SCM, and other stakeholders to ensure all work is valid and ready to schedule
- Utilize historical equipment data to make informed scheduling decisions
- Refine schedules and scheduling workflows through continuous improvement initiatives and techniques
- Gather and leverage opportunities for schedule improvement by incorporating stakeholder feedback, field observations, post-work reviews, and job execution data (e.g., delay codes, schedule deviations, compliance trends).
Location and Key Details:
- This is an office-based role. You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
- Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs.
- Occasional site travel required
