Who We Are

Draught Services, a division within The Beer Store, is Canada’s oldest and largest draught service and equipment company established since 1947. We work with Brewers and Licensees towards the common goal of promoting the highest quality draught beer experience through industry leading installation, global partnerships, and an established US and Canadian dealer network. We offer nationwide installation, system cleaning and service, and support and offer Canada’s premier Keg repair service.


The Role

We are currently searching for a Supervisor, Business Unit for our Draught Services Division, reporting to the Manager, Draught Services. This is a Full-Time, 24-Month Contract opportunity. The Business Unit Supervisor will develop and implement business plans, budgets, and operational performance analysis for the Division. They will collaborate with Management to achieve financial goals, oversee front office staff and ensure alignment with The Beer Store’s mission. This includes implementing policies, procedures, and support systems, as well as managing strategic plans and special projects.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Develop and manage budgets, Annual Operating Plans (AOP), and Capital for Draught Services, ensuring compliance and proper communication with Supervisors
  • Oversee Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, ensuring timely payments, customer understanding of terms, and resolution of credit issues
  • Manage and maintain the unique systems used at Draught Services, ensuring software is up-to-date, functional, and on supported versions, oversee software upgrades
  • Educate the industry on Draught Services' unique market position and manage special projects
  • Oversee payroll, vacation scheduling, and training programs to maintain accurate records and business coverage
  • Foster employee development, improve morale and productivity, and act as a liaison between departments to ensure alignment with the division’s financial health and Health & Safety standards
  • Liaise with the Management Team and vendors to source the best pricing and product available
  • Source new business and continue to drive current projects for Draught Services
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of the fleet of vans, including vehicle replacements and monitoring GPS accuracy and equipment condition
  • Manage annual tasks such as Drivers Abstracts, license plate sticker renewals, and ensuring up-to-date insurance and documentation for all fleet vehicles
  • Manage the systems currently in use at Draught Services which are specific and unique and different to all other areas of the business
  • Manage the upgrade process for any of the software (Business Central, OTS, Nav to Net) ensuring there are no issues in a test environment prior to deploying to Production. This will include reaching out to resources in other department to provide test scripts and testing
  • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned


Who You Are - Your Knowledge, Skills & Experience


Education

  • Post-Secondary Education in Business or Accounting required


Experience

  • Minimum 3 - 5 years of accounting experience
  • Experience with financial management and planning is key for this role
  • Experience in the Draught Services industry would be an asset
  • Previous Beer Store experience would be considered an asset
  • 1-3 years of supervisory experience required


Skills

  • Superior communication and organization skills
  • Possesses strong analytical skills, financial acumen and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Ability to work within the confines of a Collective Agreement
  • Demonstrates understanding and working knowledge of relevant Employee and Labour Legislation including Employment Standards Act, Ontario Labour Relations Act, Human Rights Code
  • Strong public relations skills and the ability to deal with accounts receivable and licensee problems and complaints
  • A track record of creative problem solving and proactive, future-focused thinking
  • Able to build positive relationships with customers, suppliers and brewers
