Accountant
Summary Responsible for the full cycle accounting up to and including financial statements preparation. Other responsibilities include production costing, payroll, cash flow, budgeting, refunds, variance, and financial analysis as assigned with high growth potential.
Job Duties
Working in an office environment 5 days a week. May require some weekends & evenings from time to time to support business needs.
Summary Responsible for the full cycle accounting up to and including financial statements preparation. Other responsibilities include production costing, payroll, cash flow, budgeting, refunds, variance, and financial analysis as assigned with high growth potential.
Job Duties
- Reconciling general ledger accounts and preparing journal entries as needed.
- Assisting with month-end financial reporting on multiple accounting books for review and discussion.
- Manage monthly intercompany billing and reconciliation
- Take part in monthly inventory counts and carryout inventory reconciliations & production costing.
- Preparing monthly bank reconciliations; monitoring cash flow, & ensuring optimal levels are maintained to meet requirements.
- Preparing monthly credit card summary statements & processing Credit Card Expenses
- Assisting with year-end working papers.
- Assisting with annual budget process for review and discussion.
- Performing various financial analysis and Ad hoc reporting as directed by the Controller.
- Filing monthly GST & Payroll tax returns.
- Assisting with AP & AR duties, other accounting duties as assigned.
- Assisting with system & process implementations & providing feedback on improvements.
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration. Preference will be given to candidates working towards their CPA designation.
- 2 to 3 years proven experience in Full cycle Accounting ideally in retail, restaurant, &/or food production industries.
- Experience utilizing Netsuite will be considered a strong asset.
- Strong Financial Acumen & analytical agility
- Detail oriented, organized & ability to meet tight deadlines
- Intermediate - Advanced knowledge in Excel & MS Office.
- Self motivated & results driven; prefers to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment
