WHO YOU ARE

We are seeking a versatile and resourceful Marketing Generalist to join our dynamic team and lead the marketing function within Grantbook's Growth Team. In this key role, you will help Grantbook effectively position our services in the market by crafting compelling messaging, driving go-to-market strategies, and aligning cross-functional teams to maximize service adoption, client engagement, and revenue growth.

In this role, you will play a critical part in executing and optimizing marketing strategies that drive brand awareness, client engagement, and business growth for our professional services firm. The ideal candidate has a broad skill set, spanning digital marketing, content creation, event coordination, and analytics, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

What You'll Be Doing

Go-to-Market Strategy & Execution

→ Product (Service) Positioning & Brand Management

  • Develop clear value propositions and differentiated positioning
  • Ensure consistent use of brand & voice
  • Track and lift market signals for application across teams
  • Ensure Grantbook teams are prepared and aligned for promotion and sales of services

→ Market Research & Competitive Insights

  • Drive efforts to increase awareness and adoption of Grantbook services for greater market penetration
  • Develop deeper client and target market understanding, including pain points and buying behaviour; use findings to inform marketing strategies and business development efforts
  • Lead competitive analysis and identify opportunities for differentiation

Demand Generation & Lead Development

→ Marketing & Digital Campaigns

  • Design and lead marketing campaigns that drive leads and sales
  • Lead Grantbook's event & sector engagement strategy
  • Manage Grantbook's website, including SEO updates and content improvements
  • Manage social media platforms, ensuring consistent activity and engagement
  • Lead content & thought leadership strategy, developing engaging materials like blog posts, whitepapers, and webinars

→ Sales Enablement

  • Support sales team to close deals faster by developing account based marketing and objection handling strategies and creating effective sales tools, such as pitch decks, one-pagers, and case studies
  • Lead sales training to ensure Grantbook teams understand and can articulate service value and competitive advantages

Experience & Skills We're Looking For

  • 7+ years of demonstrated experience in a marketing role with expertise in product and/or professional services marketing.
  • Previous work experience with the Not-For-Profit sector (bonus points for any previous experience working with grantmakers), consulting, or technology services is considered a strong asset.
  • Experience working with Salesforce, Fluxx, or other notable Grants Management Systems platforms is an asset.
  • A post-secondary certification in business and/or marketing is considered an asset.
  • Strategic & analytical skills: market research, data analysis, strategic thinking, and problem-solving.
  • Communications skills: strong writing, editing, and communication skills. Positioning and messaging, content creation, campaign planning, and brand alignment.
  • Technical skills: tech-savviness, marketing & tech industry knowledge; proficiency in marketing tools and platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, HubSpot); experience with social media management tools and website CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress). Bonus points for graphic design aptitude/experience.
  • Sales enablement skills: sales collaboration, pitch development, account-based marketing, and objective handling.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: working across multiple teams; experience with facilitation and project management.

Compensation & Benefits

Grantbook currently has a tiered salary model where levels and the accompanying compensation are determined by the experience and skills you bring to the team. The Marketing Lead role sits in Grantbook's Growth & Operations Level C, with a starting salary range of CAD$78,000 - CAD$93,000. In addition, Grantbook boasts an Employee Ownership Trust which allows team members to participate in profit sharing.

Where We Work

We are a mostly remote-first team, with a fantastic office for collaborating (and having pizza lunches) centrally located by Sherbourne subway station in Toronto. We have team members in Vancouver and Calgary, but the majority of our staff is located in and around Toronto. We will consider exceptional candidates from other locations in Canada as well.
