Our member is seeking a skilled and motivated Plumbing Service Manager to join their team in Mississauga, Ontario.

Scope of Work

The plumbing service manager will direct plumbing technicians, installers, and apprentices, to efficiently and effectively meet project tasks, duties, and other requirements. As the plumbing service manager, you are accountable for all plumbing technician’s performance assessments, reviews, and improvement objectives for the company requirements.

This role reports directly to the CEO. The scope of work for the plumbing service manager is described below. While this document outlines your general tasks, your scope of work is not limited to the description below.

  • Project Estimating
  • Effective estimation of residential and commercial projects, ensuring profitability and a high standard of quality for each project.
  • Lead projects from estimation through to service completion, ensuring technicians clearly understand the parameters of the project, including tasks and timelines. Oversee all projects to ensure smooth delivery of services.
  • Develop a growth strategy focused on financial gain and customer satisfaction. Promote the Company’s services and building long-term relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Supervise and lead a team of plumbers and technicians, ensuring they perform their tasks efficiently and maintain our high standard of quality and professionalism.
  • Plan and schedule tasks related to ongoing projects or service calls, considering customer preferences, anticipated job completion dates, and availability of staff, ensuring all projects remain on schedule.
  • Oversee the quality of work performed by the plumbing team to ensure it meets industry standards and customer expectations. Evaluate current processes, identify areas for improvement, and determine potential solutions.
  • Address customer inquiries, complaints, and concerns. Striving to provide exceptional customer service and resolve issues effectively.
  • Maintain an inventory of plumbing materials, tools, and equipment, ensuring that the team has what they need for their work.
  • Ensure that the plumbing services provided adhere to local building codes and regulations.
  • Interview new service team members and assist with hiring process. Provide training and development opportunities for service team members to improve their skills and stay up-to-date with industry advancements.
  • Promote and enforce safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintain records of service calls, work performed, sales, revenue, and customer feedback.
  • Maintain a valid plumbing license and remain in compliance with requirements set forth by regulatory bodies.

As the Plumbing Service Manager, you will be expected to demonstrate:

  • A deep understanding of plumbing systems and techniques.
  • Strong leadership skills and management abilities to lead a team effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills when interacting with customers, staff, and suppliers.
  • Problem solving skills to address and resolve complex plumbing issues and customer concerns.
  • Effective organizational, scheduling, prioritization, and resource management skills.
  • Strong technical knowledge of plumbing tools and equipment, as well as industry trends.
  • A commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Familiarity with local plumbing codes and regulations.
  • Proficiency in managing budgets and controlling costs.
