Centennial PS is located at the southwest edge of Ottawa's downtown district. Its diversity; cultures, languages, staff and student body is what makes this school both special and unique.

At Centennial the well-being of our students within our school community and clear sense of belonging provide the foundation of academic excellence for our students.

We are a small but mighty school with a population typically over 200 students. We support the English streams K-6, Middle French 4-6 and are fortunate to have both the Primary Learning Language Disability Program (grades 1-3), and two Physical Support Program classes that support grades 1-

  • Our families speak over 18 different languages at home and our school provides support to many English as a Second Language families.

Ideal candidates will support the fulfillment of the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board�s (OCDSB) Strategic Plan to enhance the quality of education in the school, and the District, by creating a positive and inclusive school climate, learning and workplace environment. Candidates will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and respectfully, with a human rights and equity perspective, to foster student success, achievement and well-being.

Eligibility List

All Occasional Teachers are eligible to apply for Long Term Occasional postings for which they are qualified. If you are fully external to the OCDSB, you may apply to this posting if you have the required qualifications. Please be advised that our order of consideration for Elementary LTO's is as follows: 1) current elementary occasional teacher applicants, followed by 2) qualified external applicants. Process For Selection

A minimum of 3 qualified applicants will be offered an interview, including:

  • At least three (3) teachers, who are currently employed as an occasional teacher with the OCDSB, and who have the required OCT qualifications and who best meet the criteria outlined in the job posting.
  • If fewer than three (3) qualified applicants apply, all qualified applicants will be interviewed.
