As an Electrical Project Management Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing electrical projects from their design to completion. Your role will include coordinating teams, budgets, and schedules while ensuring that electrical installations and systems are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the required safety and quality standards. You will coordinate with internal stakeholders, contractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure the smooth execution of projects in compliance with specifications and applicable regulations.

What You Bring To The Table

Project Planning & Coordination:

  • Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timeline, budget, resources, and milestones.
  • Coordinate with engineers, designers, subcontractors, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure all electrical components are aligned with project goals.
  • Ensure the integration of electrical systems with other mechanical, civil, and architectural components.

Leadership And Work Coordination

  • Coordinate and motivate the work of a team of electrical engineers, electricians, technicians, and contractors.
  • Assign tasks, supervise work, eliminate roadblocks and monitor performance to meet project deadlines.

Budgeting & Cost Management

  • Develop and manage project budgets, tracking costs and minimizing expenses without compromising quality.
  • Procure necessary materials, equipment, and services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality control.
  • Review and approve invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payments.

Scheduling & Timelines

  • Create and manage detailed project schedules, identifying critical milestones and deliverables.
  • Monitor project progress and adjust schedules as necessary to ensure on-time completion.
  • Conduct regular project meetings to review timelines, address concerns, and ensure team alignment.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Ensure that electrical installations are compliant with national and local electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Conduct inspections and audits to monitor the quality of work and adherence to safety procedures.
  • Implement corrective actions for any identified deficiencies or safety issues.

Risk Management

  • Identify potential risks in the project, such as design, budget, timeline, or safety concerns.
  • Develop mitigation plans to minimize risks and address unforeseen challenges.

Client And Stakeholder Communication

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project status, issues, and resolutions.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, permits, inspection records, and progress reports.
  • Provide regular project reports to senior management, including project performance, costs, risks, and opportunities.

Health, Safety, And Environmental Compliance

  • Ensure that all electrical work complies with safety standards, environmental guidelines, and legal requirements.
  • Promote a culture of safety by conducting safety meetings and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.

Essential Skills And Qualifications To Be Successful

  • Degree in Engineering or a related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in various electrical projects roles (estimation, execution, management), with at least 2 years as a project manager. Experience in industrial electrical construction projects is preferred.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or other relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems design & estimation, installation, and commissioning.
  • Familiarity with electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD).
  • Proficiency in construction software tools (e.g. Procore).
  • Communication skills, written and verbal, in French.
  • Written and verbal communication skills in English would be considered an asset.

WORK LOCATION: Kirkland, QC (This position requires travel within Quebec. You must be available to travel up to 25% of your working time.)
