Progressive Automations is looking for a Supply Chain & Quality Manager to join our Richmond team.

The Supply Chain & Quality Manager (SCQM) is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end supply chain processes and ensuring that all products meet established quality standards. This role focuses on optimizing supply chain efficiency, managing local and international vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Supply Chain Management:

  • Procurement and Sourcing:
    • Develop and execute procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective and timely acquisition of materials.
    • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to ensure favorable terms and reliable partnerships.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Oversee inventory levels to optimize stock availability while minimizing holding costs.
    • Implement demand forecasting models to align with market needs.
  • Logistics and Distribution:
    • Manage end-to-end logistics to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to customers.
    • Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
    • Work closely with multiple carriers, negotiating contracts and securing competitive shipping rates.
    • Analyze shipping performance, costs, and carrier efficiency to identify opportunities for improvement.
    • Oversee domestic and international shipping, including freight consolidation, customs compliance, and documentation.
    • Address and resolve delivery issues, ensuring minimal disruption to the supply chain.
  • Supplier Relationship Management:
    • Evaluate supplier performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
    • Foster strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure long-term collaboration.
Quality Management

  • Quality Standards Implementation:
    • Develop and implement quality assurance policies, procedures, and control systems.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards, certifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Inspection and Testing:
    • Oversee product inspections, testing processes, and non-conformance resolutions.
    • Analyze quality data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
  • Audits and Compliance:
    • Conduct internal and external audits to assess compliance with quality standards.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to address audit findings and implement corrective measures.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Drive initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce waste, and improve operational efficiency.
    • Implement lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to streamline processes.
Key Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
    • Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt would be a benefit
  • Experience:
    • Proven experience in supply chain management and quality assurance roles
    • Familiarity with ERP systems (Oracle), supply chain software, TMS
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent leadership and communication abilities.
    • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements.
    • Ability to travel internationally
