Operational Risk Business Continuity Management Consultant

Interested in joining one of Canada’s top performing asset managers? We are looking for a Business Continuity Management expert to join our Operational Risk Management (ORM) Team. Operational Risk Management (ORM) plays an essential role in driving and embedding a risk intelligent culture and operational excellence across our firm. You will have the opportunity to work closely with multiple business partners including information technology, middle & back-office teams, investment professionals, compliance officers and senior leaders. Familiarity with the investment industry and its standards as well as a variety of business applications and technologies assist in you adding value from day 1!
What You Will Do
- Play a leadership role in evolving the Business Continuity & Resiliency frameworks, policies, and procedures in line with business and industry developments.
- Designing and overseeing the implementation of a business continuity management (BCM) and resiliency strategy and related components across the BCM lifecycle incorporating business requirements, industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Work with the ORM team to enhance the maturity of other programs within the Information Security Management program including targeted risk or risk and control self-assessments, third party risk management, access controls and attestations.
- Oversee business continuity management testing cycle across the business, and key stakeholders to test the effectiveness of plans and identify areas of improvement.
- Lead ORM’s efforts to prevent, adapt, respond, recover, and learn from operational disruptions in collaboration with the Information Security Management team, Information Systems, and other business areas.
- Collaborate with the Senior Leaders, business, project, and technology teams to identify gaps, assess operational risks and review the effectiveness of controls, mitigation strategies or improvement plans across all business areas.
- Work collaboratively with the ORM team to research and share knowledge of latest business continuity / resiliency techniques and practices across the team.
- Facilitate training and awareness programs to educate staff on business continuity best practices and procedures.
What You Bring
- Passion for Operational Risk Management – you have a minimum of 10 years Operational Risk Management experience, which includes 7 plus years of business continuity / resiliency management. You have expert knowledge of risk management frameworks, ISO and NIST standards principles, and broad-based business practices. Your organizational, project management skills and subject matter expertise are critical success factors. Completion of relevant qualification or certification is an asset.
