Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Program Lead, Airfield Electrical & Civil Works to join our team. This position is based out of Mississauga.
Major Responsibilities:
- Oversee the delivery of Airfield Electrical and Civil Works, including runway resurfacing, restoration, and replacement of airfield electrical control systems, ensuring alignment with scope, cost, schedule, quality, and risk requirements.
- Lead and manage the sub-program team, fostering a cohesive and collaborative team environment.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, both internal and external, while working closely with the stakeholder relations team to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Implement and enforce the sub-program’s governance and execution plan throughout the program lifecycle.
- Provide consolidated performance updates to the Program Director, delivering regular progress reports at established forums.
- Manage contractor performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and successful delivery of scope, cost, schedule, quality, and risk objectives.
- Identify, manage, and escalate change decisions while coordinating with PMO Services to facilitate the change management process.
- Lead monthly Sub-Program Progress Reviews, reporting progress and performance metrics to the Program Director.
- Communicate resourcing needs to the Program Director, ensuring alignment with PMO Services and the Technical Shared Services teams.
- Prepare and issue monthly progress reports and update PMIS (Program Management Information System) dashboards to reflect performance metrics.
- Collaborate with the Program Director and other Program Leads to ensure seamless delivery of the overall Program.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and career development support to staff, fostering growth and professional development.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
A University Degree + 10 years of experience in a program management role or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years in a program management leadership role.
Preferred Requirements:
- Typically, a minimum of 15 years of professional experience, including at least 10 years in a program management leadership role.
- At least 5 years of experience on large-scale international airport projects or equivalent infrastructure programs, with a focus on airfield restoration and/or civil infrastructure works exceeding CAD $1 billion.
- Proven expertise in program management and/or relevant technical disciplines required to deliver complex programs.
- Demonstrated success in leading teams to execute and deliver complex projects and programs effectively.
- Strong technical proficiency across all project phases, including design, planning, construction, operations, and maintenance, preferably within large-scale programs or projects.
- Extensive experience in managing senior stakeholder relationships and providing strategic-level reporting to support informed decision-making.
- Familiarity with collaborative project environments and significant experience with progressive contracting models, such as Progressive Design-Build and Target Price agreements.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including the ability to facilitate meetings and workshops with large, diverse groups of stakeholders.
- A recognized degree and professional designation in a relevant field are considered strong assets.
