This is a part-time, 18 months contract opportunity

As a member of the Global Technology, Enterprise Platforms (GTEP) Strategy, Employee Engagement and Communications team, you will play a leading role in producing internal communications for Scotiabank’s GTEP team, as well as conceptualize, create, deliver, and measure the success of employee engagement programs. The successful candidate will ensure all communications and employee engagement programs are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures and are aligned to GTEP strategy and all-Bank priorities.

Communication:

  • Develop and execute communication plans to keep partners informed about projects, milestones, and learning & development initiatives and employee engagement programs.

  • Create communication materials, including presentations, newsletters, emails, and Teams’ posts to convey key messages.

  • Lead and manage the maintenance of GTEP’s SharePoint site.

  • Ensure consistent and transparent communication for GTEP technology driven projects.

Employee Engagement:

  • Analyze employee surveys to identify trends and challenges that need to be addressed.

  • Conduct focus groups and workshops to gather data, feedback and ideas to maintain and improve team culture.

  • Develop and implement appropriate strategies to boost employee engagement.

  • Track and measure employee participation and ensure strategies are implemented properly.

  • Support on-site and virtual event logistics, connect with various contacts at the global GTEP level to stay aligned with different initiatives, celebrations, and events.

Skills:

  • Minimum of five (5) years working experience in corporate communications or related technology industry experience with a concentration in technical writing in a complex, dynamic, knowledge-based environment.

  • Ability to take complex technology ideas, concepts and projects and translate them into simplified and digestible key messages that resonate with various and broad audiences.

  • Leveraging feedback from formal and informal channels to deliver clear and aligned communications.

  • Knowledge and experience leveraging various communication vehicles to effectively communicate and engage employees.

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills with a demonstrated ability to drive internal and external engagement across a large employee base and amongst a range of partners.

  • Discrete ability to recognize and appropriately handle sensitive and confidential information.

  • Flexible and willing to take on new challenges as they present themselves.

  • Ability to create enthusiasm and foster a team environment.

  • Excellent knowledge with MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc. Desktop publishing and video experience is an asset.
