Associate Lawyer

Our team is in search of an Associate Lawyer to join us for a 12-month contract opportunity.
Your Contribution to the Story:
As an Associate Lawyer, you will work collaboratively with our team, clients, and other advisors to plan and implement tax effective strategies and transactions for entrepreneurs and private clients.

Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Provide outstanding client service and legal advice, including direct communications with clients;
- Assist with all aspects of corporate and tax-planned transactions;
- Review and draft agreements and other corporate documents;
- Review and draft wills, trusts, and other estate planning documents;
- Assist with Estate Administration files;
- Provide research support;
- Work with partners on mergers and acquisitions
A successful candidate will have:
- Membership (or eligibility for membership) in the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society, in good standing;
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in providing legal services to entrepreneurs, including assisting with transactions and preparing legal documents;
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, trustworthy, accountable, proactive, and a positive work attitude;
- Knowledge and interest in providing legal advice to entrepreneurs and managers about day-to-day business operations and major transactions;
- Experience with estate administration an asset;
- Ability to keep a service focus under pressure, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
